Trust Meeting
Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Trust on Monday 1st August 2022 (postponed
from 04.07.2022) at 7:15 pm in the Small Hall of North Petherton Community Centre.

Present:
Chair: L Hyde,
Town Councillors: P Spencer, L Dennis-Smith, S Fowell, P Reddington

PF1/2022

Election of Chairman
The Mayor presided over this agenda item.
RESOLVED that Councillor Hyde be elected as Chair.

Apologies for absence
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Bradford and Ives.

Declarations of interests
There were no declarations of interest.

PF4/2022

Chairman’s report
Councillor Hyde thanked the meeting for re-electing her and presented her report
which included:
• After the ups and downs of COVID thing have started to settle into a mor e
of a routine
• work done has been within budget.
• In autumn 2021 the Memorial Field was awarded the Somerset Playing
Fields Association Field of the Year Award

Volunteers on the management committee are committed and dedicated
supported by additional volunteers for special projects such as bulb
planting.
New bins have been provided and an arrangement for bin emptying with
Sedgemoor District Council has reduced the litter problem.
The new path at Parkersfield to the children’s play area has been
completed.
The relationship with the Football Club continues to develop and improve.
It is hoped that that the yellow lines / new parking restrictions will help
parking problems at the Memorial Park
The avenue of trees in the Memorial Park is surviving and is being
regularly watered.
The Chair thanked Town Clerk Mr Latham and the assistant Clerk Mrs
Ferguson for their help and commitment.

At the conclusion of the report the Mayor thanked all the team for their very hard
work during the past year.

RESOLVED that the Minutes of the meeting held on 14th October 2021 be confirmed
as a correct record.

RESOLVED to approve the accounts for the year ended 31st March 2022 as presented.

Management Committee

members.

Parkersfield
The current issues at Parkersfield included:
• Councillors had visited on a general tour of the area and commented that it
was a lovely space and admired the new path.

Establishing responsibility for maintenance of the perimeter ditch and
agreeing a practical schedule of work to keep it clear.
Signage by the entrances needs to be updated.
The current by-laws, if any, need to be understood and reviewed

Memorial Park
The current issues at the Memorial Park included:
• A new Councillor had visited the park the previous week and reported that
they were really impressed by the range of equipment.
• The park is being well used by local people.
• The possibility of a celebration event later in the year is being explored.
