Footpath BW23/5 & Football Pitch Maintenance
Consideration was given to recent correspondence regarding Footpath BW23/5 &
Football Pitch Maintenance
RESOLVED
(i)
that a letter be sent to the North Petherton Football Club explaining that:
• the Trust, having considered the difficulties caused by the temporary fencing,
consider it unreasonable to block public access to the playing field particularly
when this involves a Right of Way;
• the Trust has discussed the possibility of applying for a diversion order
however it is of the opinion this will not be practical.
• the Trust has discussed principal use of Parker’s Field and wish to re-affirm
that this is an open access playing field for the whole of the North Petherton
community and therefore does not expect members of the football club to
imply anything different in dealings with members of the public.
(ii)
That a meeting be convened with representatives of the football to discuss
maintenance responsibilities etc. and the letter referred to in (i) above should
be delivered at the meeting.
(iii)
That a copy of the letter referred to in (i) should be circulated to all Town
Councillors.
The meeting closed at 21:07hrs
