North Petherton Educational Trusts

NPET oversees two historic charities, the Sir Thomas Wroth Educational Trust and The Cheeke and Stodgell Educational Foundation. These provide small financial grants for young people aged between 16 and 25, resident in the parish of North Petherton, who are in full time education, training or apprenticeship scheme.

Applicants, aged between 16 and 25, must be resident in the parish of North Petherton, which includes North Petherton, North Newton, Moorland, Huntworth, Fordgate, Woolmersdon, Stockmoor, Wilstock and Somerset Bridge. Applications must be made by the claimant, and be signed by course tutors, parent or carers as necessary. The grants can cover, or go towards, the cost of books, software, specialised equipment, project travel, exhibitions, clothing and tools, but will not be awarded for daily travel or living expenses. Full details of equipment costs will be required

Applications need to reach the clerk by 31 October 2021, and the grants will be decided in November.

Twinning Association

The twinning link between the parish of North Petherton and the commune of Ceauce in southern Normandy was established in 1993. We promote links and cultural understanding between the two communities, including their clubs and schools, and visit each other on alternate years. Over the years we have taken our friends to many places including Bath, Wells, Cheddar, Exeter, and Sidmouth. We enjoy many social fundraising events throughout the year to which all are welcome. Watch out for the latest news in the United Benefice Link.

For any other information, or if you wish to join us, please contact Mrs Rosemary Day on roseyjday@yahoo.co.uk or 01278 663074
